Starting in 2022, the Dedman Distinguished Scholars Essay Competition began holding writing workshops to assist students in working on their essays. Students are not required to attend these workshops in order to apply to the competition, but they will be useful resources to help develop college-level writing skills. Both workshops will be held online over Zoom. Students must register beforehand as this form will be used to send the Zoom link 10 minutes prior to the workshops.

2025 WORKSHOPS
The first writing workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 pm. The second will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd at 7:00 pm. These workshops will include a presentation that goes over the following:
- Overview of the essay prompt
- Brainstorming and revising strategies
- Tips for writing an introduction and conclusion
- Q&A with a representative from the DDSP
